Rasmus Kristensen believes Leeds United must learn how to keep the intensity in matches ‘high’ regardless of opposition’s game management tactics. The Whites have been left frustrated on a number of occasions in games at Elland Road so far this season, claiming that visiting teams are deliberately looking to slow the pace of it down.
Jesse Marsch has not been afraid to hide his emotions on the subject, but it is clearly a tactic that sides in and around Leeds know will frustrate them. Despite accumulating eight points from their opening four home matches, Leeds have actually only scored the first goal in just one of those games.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds, Kristensen feels finding that all important opener would go a long way to preventing these tactics from visiting clubs, but also conceded Leeds must find ways of coping with it anyway.

He said: “I think it is obviously frustrating, we want a game at high pace, with loads of intensity, running, pressing, back and forth. Some teams are killing the game in a way that is beneficial for them. We have to learn to manage that and we have to learn to keep playing to our strengths, trying as much as possible to keep the tempo high, keep the level of intensity at a max.
“It is frustrating, I think it is frustrating for everybody watching but it is a part of football. It’s a tactical aspect that I completely understand, so we just have to manage it. If we find the first goal in a game like this they are forced to change and then we would certainly get the game that we want.”
