Rashford, Martial, Van de Beek, Shaw — Manchester United injury latest and return dates

Manchester United have been handed a double boost on the injury front as international stars including Cristiano Ronaldo prepare to team up with their nations for the September break.

After being on the side-lines for recent games, Donny van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri have returned to training with their United teammates. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are not yet fit enough to follow them, though, with United next in action during the Manchester derby on Sunday, October 2 at the Etihad Stadium.

Martin Dubravka and Aaron Wan-Bissaka both missed the Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol with knocks and there has, as yet, been no update from United on their condition. Here's the current state of play on the treatment table at Carrington before the international break;

Antony Martial

Injury: Achilles

Return date: TBC

What Ten Hag has said: "He's progressing, but he's not ready to get back into team training or in a game."

Facundo Pellistri

Injury: Ankle

Return date: Back in training

Pellistri returned to training with his United teammates at Carrington on Monday morning and has been named in the latest Uruguay squad. Uruguay take on Iran and Canado in the coming days and Pellistri, 20, should be afforded some game-time during those international fixtures.

Marcus Rashford

Injury: Muscular

Return date: October 2nd (possibly)

What Ten Hag has said: "He has a muscle injury. I don't think too long, but I don't know. It's not really bad and we expect him quite soon to be back in the team."

Luke Shaw

Injury: Knock

Return date: October 2nd (Back in training now)

Despite starting the first two games, Shaw has found regular minutes hard to come by this season after, seemingly, being leapfrogged in the pecking order by Tyrell Malacia following his summer move. Shaw is available for selection moving forward, though, after a 'small complaint'.

Donny van de Beek

Injury: Knock

Return date: October 2nd (Back in training now)

Just like Pellistri, the former Ajax midfielder laced up his boots at Carrington on Monday morning. However, he might have to wait a little while before his re-introduction to the pitch after being omitted — once again — from the Netherlands squad by Louis van Gaal.
