Simon Cowell is a household name and music mogul who has graced our screens since 2001.
He rose to prominence while judging on Pop Idol until 2003, before moving on to create The X Factor UK, Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor (US), and America’s Got Talent. The 62-year-old was successful in the UK in the 1980s and 1990s as a record producer, consultant and talent scout.
Since creating a host of talent shows, he has pushed musicians to the top of the charts, with famous names such as One Direction, Little Mix, Westlife and Olly Murs under his company Syco. Simon is also known for his signature look of high waisted trousers and a low-cut shirt.

Alongside other physical transformations, such as his weight loss and his shiny white teeth, his appearance with a wrinkle-free face made headlines across the country from as far back as 2008.
Yet, he recently admitted that he removed the filler from his face after some botched procedures just before his 60th birthday. He has also turned to a vegan diet to look after his health.
People across the globe have watched Simon change over decades, but few have seen what he was like as a young man. In what appears to be his first ever TV appearance, 20 years before the first Britain’s Got Talent episode aired, a young Simon is pictured on a Channel 4 show called ‘Right of Reply’.
Simon, then in his late 20s, is depicted wearing a white t-shirt with bouffant hair. Alongside his flatmate at the time, he appeared on the show to offer opinions on sex scenes on television that the duo had watched.
His mannerisms and attitudes do not seem to have changed, more recent viewers have noticed. One YouTube user commented: “he literally didn’t change AT ALL, the way he speaks, his posture, the way he sits and facial expressions”. Another said: “How can a person never get out of character for an entire life”.
He also appeared on another Sky game show called ‘Sale of the Century’ in 1989, where he was introduced as a “record company director from London” who enjoys “watching motor racing and is a keen go-kart racer”.
After appearing on televisions across the world for twenty years, Simon is one of the most recognisable faces in the world. Yet few know that he was on TV screens as a fresh-faced twenty-something-year-old in the 80s.
