Rapper Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman, has found himself in further legal trouble as he was recently arrested on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving in his hometown of Savannah, Georgia. These charges come in addition to the existing felony charges that Bowman is already facing in both state and federal courts.
The 24-year-old rapper was taken into custody on Tuesday and subsequently released on a $4,600 bond, according to the records from Chatham County jail. This arrest follows Bowman's initial charges last year, where he was accused of drug-related offenses and involvement with a street gang in Chatham County Superior Court. In a separate case, federal prosecutors charged him with conspiring to possess and distribute drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana.
The recent charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving stem from a car accident that occurred last July, where Bowman crashed his vehicle into another. It is alleged that emergency responders at the scene administered a drug used to treat opioid overdoses to the rapper. His attorney, Jonah Pine, expressed his discontent with the new charges, labelling them as unnecessary additions to an already complex legal situation.
Pine stated that the prosecutors seemed to be going 'an extra mile to heap more nonsense onto Quando Rondo,' implying that there may be ulterior motives behind the charges. However, the details surrounding these allegations have not been fully disclosed.
Despite the legal issues that surround him, Quando Rondo has managed to make a name for himself in the music industry. Known for his singles 'I Remember' and 'ABG,' the rapper secured a deal with Atlantic Records, which facilitated the release of his debut album, 'QPac,' in 2020. He followed up with his second album, 'Recovery,' which was released in March of this year.
It remains to be seen how these recent charges will impact Quando Rondo's career and legal battles. As both his state and federal cases continue to unfold, the rapper faces a challenging road ahead.
