Rapper Mist shot: Is he out of hospital, how did he get hurt and how did robbers break into his villa?

The rap world has been rocked by the shocking news that Mist was shot while on holiday in Portugal.

He was rushed to hospital after he was injured in last night.

Robbers are said to have taken his passport, phones and jewels during the apparent break-in.

Birmingham-born Mist, real name Rhys Thomas Sylvester, was driven to Faro Hospital in a white Mercedes by two friends.

Police are yet to release about information about the condition of the 27-year-old musician.

Mist's friends told police he was shot in the leg during a break-in committed by two or three men with Irish accents.

He was on holiday with his personal trainer friend, known as Attitude Malik, but it's unclear if it was him who drove Mist to hospital.

Mist keeps his relationship private and it is not known if his girlfriend was in the villa at the time of the robbery.

The drama occurred inside a villa on the upmarket Quinta do Lago resort, which is a favourite of former footballers Steven Gerrard and John Terry.

Mist performed at the Afro Nation Festival in the Algarve resort of Praia da Roche at the start of the month.

Mist is a Mobo award winner and his second EP Diamond in the Dirt peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart when it was released last year.

Three songs from the album also entered the UK Singles Chart.

Mist's famous friends include Dua Lipa, Lady Leshurr and Jorja Smith.

He was sentenced to 14 months in prison in October 2014 after being caught driving without a licence following a police chase on the M6

Talking about his time inside, Mist said: "A lot of people say prison makes or breaks you. I can say it made me. It made me look at life differently. I valued things that I never valued before in my life.

I just looked at life from a different angle, and I kind of stepped back from all that fast-paced living and started living just for one day and actually looking at where I want to be in life and in my future. It made me, man. It gave me a drive. I feel like before I went to prison, I never had a purpose.

"Even though I had a daughter and a family that were relying on me and what not, I didn't know that until I went to prison. All those people were taken away from me. I came out knowing that I had a purpose. I didn't, in my head, think it was going to be music."
