Rapper Lil Baby Released On Bond After Las Vegas Arrest

Lil Baby poses in the press room at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles on March 14, 2021. One person was shot and critically wounded at a concert

Rapper Lil Baby has been released from custody on bond in Las Vegas after being arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The 29-year-old Atlanta-born rapper, whose legal name is Dominique Armani Jones, was taken into custody on a suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon charge while on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. His attorneys stated that Jones possesses a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit and are investigating the circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas.

Nevada does not recognize Georgia's weapons carry license. Court records show that no charges were filed against Jones, and he was released after posting a $5000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Clark County court on Oct. 1. Requests for records from Las Vegas Police and Clark County courts are pending.

Lil Baby was in Las Vegas to perform at the birthday party for Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden. The rapper's career took off in 2017 with the mixtape 'Harder than Hard' and gained further success with his second album 'My Turn' in 2020. He won a Grammy for his work on Kanye West’s 'Hurricane' and received accolades such as the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the 2021 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2020 Apple Music Awards.
