Rapper DaBaby says he’s working on new anthem with Panthers

Make some room, Petey Pablo.

Carolina Panthers super-fan and Grammy-nominated rap artist DaBaby stopped by WFNZ to join Tuesday’s episode of Wes & Walker.

While promoting his first annual Billion Dollar Birthday Bash—a star-studded concert set to take place at the Spectrum Centre on Wednesday—the Charlotte (by way of Cleveland, Ohio) native teased a little something special involving his Panthers . . .

Petey Pablo’s “Raise Up” has slapped not only as a Panthers anthem, but as a North Carolina anthem for over two decades. (The Panthers have also gotten some musical accompaniment from Big Head Todd and the Monsters, whose “Boom Boom” has served as the team’s touchdown song.)

So, how would this supposed new anthem by DaBaby fit in? We’ll just have to wait and see.

But hopefully it’ll stick more than his last try—back when he was known as Baby Jesus in 2015 . . .
