Raphael Varane says Manchester United already have a clear vision of how they want to play under Erik ten Hag following their impressive 4-0 win over Liverpool. United began their pre-season schedule in perfect style on Tuesday, as goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri earned them a winning start under new manager Ten Hag.
Despite the friendly nature of the match, there was still plenty of reason to be excited by United 's style of play, particularly in the organised way in which they pressed their opponents throughout the encounter.
There will be much tougher tests to come when the season starts properly, but Varane is happy to have such a clear style of play in place already under Ten Hag.

"We know exactly how we want to play," the France international told reporters. "The manager explained very well what we have to do and it's absolutely clear.
"So we know we have to be very fit because it's a very physical way to play."
"We are happy with the result, obviously, but we know we have to work very hard to be ready for the start of the season.
"We're working a lot, so we try to be absolutely ready for the beginning of the season.
"This is just the start of the pre-season, so it's just the beginning, but we know exactly where we want to go."
When further pressed on the style of play United adopted, Varane admitted it would take a high level of fitness to be able to keep it up next season.
He added: "We tried to keep the ball in possession and we tried to press very high on the pitch, so this is a very physical style.
"That's why we know we have to work very hard in training sessions and we try to be ready."
