Raphael Varane fit to face Fulham but Manchester United hit by fresh blow

Manchester United have received good news and bad news on the fitness front ahead of facing Fulham.

Erik ten Hag was able to confirm Raphael Varane's return from a fever for the weekend's trip to the capital but Victor Lindelof is a doubt due to illness.

The Swedish defender will be assessed ahead of the squad travelling down south with this blow coming as just the latest injury issue to hit United.

Casemiro was ruled out for several weeks on Friday having picked up a hamstring strain in the Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle.

Ten Hag is having to rally his side from a pair of 3-0 defeats at Old Trafford in the past few days, which have put his job at risk.

However, the Dutchman has insisted that his future is not on the line in the lunchtime kick-off against Fulham.

When asked if the game was a must-win, he said: "I never think of such scenarios.

"We have to win every game. We have prepared very well and I'm sure the players are ready tomorrow to execute the plan.

"They are positive. They want to put this right and we know the standards here, we have to match them every day.

"We've had two big setbacks, but we'll fight back. The dressing room is strong, the staff are strong and this manager is strong."
