Good Morning Britain has announced Ranvir Singh's replacement after the 44-year-old stepped back from her political role on the popular breakfast television show. It was reported last month that Ranvir left the position in December but would continue on the programme as one of GMB's regular presenters and newsreaders.
Ranvir, who joined GMB in 2014 and became political editor three years, also regularly fills in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show and presents consumer programme Eat, Shop, Save. She also recently hosted the recent documentary film Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile.
As Ranvir's presenting duties ramp up a familiar face has been announced as the new political correspondent on GMB. The news was confirmed by the show's Senior Political Producer Anne Alexander on Thursday, March 17.

Posting the news on Twitter, Anne wrote: "Delighted that @LouisaJamesITV is joining Good Morning Britain's politics team as Political Correspondent, taking over from @ranvir01. She's experienced, hard working and obsessed with politics. Think she'll do well with me and @kieronishere. Welcome to the (mad) House Louisa."
Ranvir was quick to respond to the news and threw her support behind her colleague. "Super happy about this," she wrote with kisses and additional party poppers and applause emojis.
GMB star Charlotte Hawkins also reacted, posting on Twitter: "Great news - congratulations Louisa!!" While Susanna Reid commented: "Congratulations @LouisaJamesITV."
Anne also responded to one fan who queried what was next for Ranvir, explaining that she wasn't going anywhere.
"I hope @ranvir01 stays with the @GMB," said the viewer. "She's top class and the absolute best at what she does! If not, anyone know where she's heading off too?
"Would be such a shame to lose her from the show! Either way, best of luck @ranvir01 to whatever you do next."
"Don't worry," Anne responded. "Ranvir isn't going anywhere! She's presenting."
