Ranvir Singh can't 'control emotions' as she replaces Lorraine Kelly

Ranvir Singh struggled to "control her emotions" as she stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on ITV this morning.

Lorraine is currently taking a Christmas break, with Ranvir hosting the show this week. After the news she would be filling in for Lorraine was announced on Good Morning Britain on Friday, Ranvir said: "Nobody can be Lorraine other than Lorraine. I am keeping her seat warm next week."

It's not the first time the former Strictly star has stepped in for the Scottish TV presenter.

After a dramatic Strictly Come Dancing final this weekend, Ranvir was joined by runner-up Helen Skelton on Monday's instalment of Lorraine. Helen said: "I just wanted to make my kids proud. Every day they have asked me 'are you trying to win the glitterball, Mummy?'

"And I've said 'I'm trying to win the glitterball, baby', so yeah we didn't quite bring home that trophy but we made memories that will last a lifetime."

Ranvir said: "You've given joy to millions of people, Helen. Congratulations, we're so proud of you for everything, on and off screen. We adore you".

After Helen thanked the temporary Lorraine host and wished her a happy Christmas, Ranvir was clearly emotional. She said: "Isn't she just a complete delight?" before adding to herself: "Right, control your emotions, Ranvir".

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and the ITV Hub
