Ranveer Singh shares new picture from Simmba sets, it is Singham reloaded

The Simmba team is getting into action mode in all earnestness. After sharing a fun video featuring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, director Rohit Shetty and producer Karan Johar a couple of days back, Ranveer has now shared a new look from the film’s set.

Sharing the picture, Ranveer wrote: “ROHIT SHETTY ka HERO. CAPS LOCK mein.”

In the picture, Ranveer channels the Singham look completely — he sports a dark blue shirt with a pair of dark grey trousers. He wears aviator glasses and sports a moustache. His neatly combed oiled hair gives him a perfect tough cop look. He stands erect with his hands on his hips. He has brown-coloured shoes and a wrist band to boot. And he is standing along with a group of policemen.

From the earlier video, we know that Ranveer’s character is called Sangram Bhalerao. The film is a cop drama, with Ranveer playing a rambunctious cop and promises to be a true-blue Rohit Shetty film.

Simmba is loosely based on Telugu superstar Jr NTR’s Temper. Explaining the difference, Rohit had earlier said, “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper, but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham.”

Simmba might also see Priya Prakash Varrier, the girl who became an overnight sensation after her wink from her upcoming Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love went viral.

Meanwhile, Simmba may just turn out to be Sara’s Bollywood debut, given the troubles that her other film Kedarnath is facing. As of now, Kedarnath is set to release on November 30. The shooting schedules, however, are not in place. The film has been facing troubles over producers’ fights. The shooting too had to be stalled owing to the legal issues.

Ranveer is currently also working in Zoya Akhtar’s film Gully Boy that is based on Mumbai’s street rappers.

Simmba is expected to release on December 28 this year.
