Ranting Deputy Tory party Chairman Lee Anderson had become the latest politician to turn to a career in TV.
The controversial Tory MP for Ashfield, who said Brits using foodbanks can't cook or budget, is set to host his own talk show on GB News to represent the "silent majority".
Mr Anderson's show is expected to run at 7pm on Fridays, but will be pre-recorded on a Thursday so he'll have time to do his constituency work.
In the last week alone, Mr Anderson was accused of "demonising" those in poverty by saying families "abuse" food banks then take their children to McDonald's and for "parroting far-right misinformation" after saying he had sympathy for people protesting outside hotels used to house asylum seekers.
He has repeatedly ranted about struggling Brits relying on foodbanks - and earned the nickname '30p Lee' for his claims about the cost of meals.
Mr Anderson sparked fury in January by claiming foodbank users squander their cash on cigarettes, alcohol, expensive TV subscriptions and holidays.
And Rishi Sunak faced backlash after handing him the post of Tory deputy chairman in a Cabinet reshuffle last month.
The Tory Deputy Chairman said: “GB News is the true voice of the Great British silent majority.”
“I’m joining the people’s channel to ensure their voice is heard.”
He also posted a separate comment online which read: "It's true. A fantastic way to promote sensible opinions on the UKs leading unbiased news channel."
It follows GB News having hired fellow Tories Jacob Rees-Mogg, Esther McVey and Philip Davies.
The register suggests that he will be in line for a significant increase in that fee if he hosts his own show, with fellow Conservative MPs earning more than twice that as presenters.
Tatton MP Esther McVey earned £58,650 as a GB News presenter in 2022, at an average of just under £900 per episode.
Her husband and co-host, Shipley MP Philip Davies, was paid £46,203 in the same year, an average of £679 per episode.
The channel also announced this week that former First Minister of Northern Ireland, Baroness Arlene Foster, will expand her role as a presenter across the GB News schedule..
Other politicians appearing on the channel include former Brexit party leader Nigel Farage and ex-Labour MP Gloria de Piero.
