People watch the Super Bowl for lots of different reasons.
Of course, some folks watch for the actual football game, and the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs absolutely delivered.
Some people watch for the celebrities and halftime show. Famous folks – including Taylor Swift – flocked to Las Vegas for Super Bowl 58, and then Usher and a handful of guests rocked Allegiant Stadium at halftime.
And then there are others who simply turn in for the breaks – the commercials and the movie trailers.
This year’s Super Bowl’s film trailers and sneak peeks were heavy on franchises, sequels and biopics. We have a full list of the trailers here.

Twisters
[Jesse Plemons voice] “I’m here to see about the Twisters; who’s been chasin’ ‘em.”
The first Twister movie came out in 1996, when Glenn Powell was all of eight-years-old.
Anyways, this looks pretty decent. Put Powell in more movies, please.

Bob Marley: One Love
This film kind of looks like Oscar’s bait, but I’m interested in it for several reasons.
First, it puts an incredibly talented actor in Kinglsey Ben-Adir at the center of the frame as he transforms into the iconic reggae superstar. Second, it’s directed by Renaldo Marcus-Green, whose previous work in film and television related to real people and actual events includes King Richard (the biopic that earned Will Smith an Oscar) and We Own This City, the underrated HBO miniseries documenting the rise and fall of Baltimore’s Gun Trace Task Force. Third, Terence Winter had his pen on this screenplay, and his previous work includes The Sopranos and The Wolf of Wall Street.
So, people who have made a lot of great pieces of film and television joined forces on this. My expectations are high.
Deadpool & Wolverine
This is the one we were all waiting for, right? This is the film that is supposed to marry the Deadpool franchise to the MCU, and it also marks the return of Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal of Wolverine. After a mixed bag in 2023, Marvel fans are hoping for this one to be a hit.
