Ranking the 2022 NFL Thanksgiving games by watchability (sorry, Lions fans)

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning. Charles Curtis is filling in for Andy Nesbitt.

Thanksgiving is nearly upon us, which means getting together with friends and family, eating a bunch of food and watching THREE NFL Games.

But maybe you want to figure out times to step away from the television. Maybe you can’t watch all three games for whatever reason you might have.

So let me be your guide by ranking all three games by watchability:

3. Bills at Lions, 12:30 PM ET: Sorry, Lions fans. Of the three games on the schedule, we know the outcome of this one despite the fact that Detroit has played really well lately and the Lions are a feisty bunch. Plus, this game takes place around the time you’re probably prepping the meal.

2. Patriots at Vikings, 8:20 PM ET: PRIMETIME KIRK COUSINS ALERT! But also: Bill Belichick’s defense and Cousins playing at night could mean a low-scoring affair. After a long day of cooking and eating, this could be the “I’ll watch but I could fall asleep by halftime” special.

1. Giants at Cowboys, 4:30 PM ET: No New York fan bias here, I promise. The Giants can keep things close, the rivalry is always entertaining. If only this was the earlier game! Alas. Grab a plate and watch this one on the couch.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Quick hits: Pat Bev vs. the Suns, again … Germany’s statement … Ben Simmons hits the MJ shrug … and more.

Patrick Beverley shoved Deandre Ayton after the Suns center stood over Austin Reaves. Devin Booker’s reaction? He told Beverley to push players from the front and not the back. WHEW.

Check out how Germany posed for its pre-World Cup match photo as FIFA continues to threaten discipline for non-approved armbands.
