Alex Lowry could celebrate his new Rangers contract with a starting slot against Dundee United this afternoon.
The Uddingston teen put pen to paper on a contract extension with the Ibrox club yesterday, keeping him in Govan until 2025.
And with champions-elect Celtic having all but wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title, Gers gaffer Gio van Bronckhorst could ring the changes as he looks to rest up his squad ahead of their Europa League Final with Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville on May 18.
Lowry is looking for only his second Premiership outing having played in a 1-0 win over Livingston at Ibrox in January.
The 18-year-old midfielder made his first team debut earlier that month in a Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion and has been a standout performer for the club's B team in the Lowland League this term as well.
His performances have seen him called into the first-team squad on a regular basis since and he has also been on the bench as Rangers enjoyed Scottish Cup semi-final success over Celtic recently and during the club's incredible run to the Europa League final.
And now could be the time to hand him more first team experience.
The provisional squad for today's 3pm kick-off has been revealed and the players in contention are as follows:
Allan McGregor
Jon McLaughlin
Robby McCrorie
James Tavernier
Connor Goldson
Leon Balogun
Calvin Bassey
Leon King
Borna Barisic
Glen Kamara
Steven Davis
James Sands
John Lundstram
Ryan Jack
Scott Arfield
Joe Aribo
Alex Lowry
Scott Wright
Fashion Sakala
Amad Diallo
Aaron Ramsey
The clash with Dundee United is also expected to see Rangers fans pay tribute to legendary kitman Jimmy Bell.
The Wishaw man passed away on Tuesday and supporters have been encouraged to wear retro kits to the game in his honour.
