Rangers youngster Hogarth pens new deal ahead of Alloa loan

Rangers youngster Hogarth pens new deal ahead of Alloa loan

RANGERS youngster Jay Hogarth has signed a new three-year deal to keep him at Ibrox.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper committed his future to the club until 2025.

And straight after signing new terms, Hogarth made a loan switch to League One.

The keeper has joined Alloa for the upcoming season as he seeks first-team football.

Hogarth featured for Scotland under-19s and the Rangers B team last season and was also on the bench during the Europa League campaign.

Head of academy goalkeeping Graeme Smith told the club website: “We are delighted that Jay has extended his stay at Rangers for a further three years.

“Jay has continued to make fantastic progress during his time at the club and has worked incredibly hard from becoming part of our Academy at the age of ten years old.

“As part of our Boclair school programme and now our Professional Development Phase he has continued to rise to each challenge that we have set him.

“He was a key player for us last year in our inaugural Lowland League campaign, as well as our continued progress in the UEFA Youth League and at an international level with the Scotland U19 squad.

“The opportunity to play with Alloa in League One for the season ahead will provide the next challenge for him to learn as he continues his development through the pathway that we have planned for Jay.”
