Motherwell boss Graham Alexander says his side won't go defensive against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday, and will try to force Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's side onto the back foot.
Rangers ran out comfortable 6-1 winners at Fir Park earlier this season, but Motherwell drew 1-1 in September in a game Alexander felt they should have won, and have fared reasonably well against the Glasgow giants in his time at the club, with Devante Cole netting in a 1-1 draw in January 2021.
Alexander insists Motherwell won't go into the game thinking it's a 'free hit' and are looking to win every game they play.
He said: "The challenge is a tough one. Take the last game out of it, but I think before that we've done really well.
"We had to work exceptionally hard [in the 1-1 draw this season]. We had to try and nullify their qualities or make them play in a way they didn't want to, and I think Sunday will be a similar game, or a similar game-plan from us.
"We have to try and make them play in a way that they're not particularly comfortable with, and then bring our 'A game, in and out of possession.
"It's important that we don't go there just to defend. We need to have an attacking threat, which we always try and carry.
"We have to know, we have to look within ourselves as a team, and see that we can score goals.
"It's about getting the balance right when you come up against any opponent.
"There's never a game where we don't have a thought process on how to win it, and Sunday won't be any different."
