Rangers won't fear PSV trip predicts Charlie Adam as he insists Dortmund repeat is on the cards

Charlie Adam reckons Rangers have no reason to fear a trip to Eindhoven next week. Because they've won at bigger and better grounds already this year – such as Borussia Dortmund last season.

Gio van Bronckhorst 's team slugged out a 2-2 draw with the Dutch side at Ibrox, with Armando Obispo's late header setting up a one-leg shootout in the Netherlands come Wednesday. A win would see Rangers go into the Champions League group stage - marking the first time in more than one decade that two Scottish clubs have been in the competition proper.

For Rangers, qualifying for the top tier would be another big step forward after their run to the Europa League Final last season. They sent Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, Braga and RB Leipzig packing on their way to Seville, and Adam reckons it's a run that sets them up well for a big-pressure night in Eindhoven.

In particular, he reckons their away-leg 4-2 victory over Dortmund shows they've handled bigger and better than the Eredivisie runners-up. Adam, speaking to Betfred, said: “It’s a big task but they’ve been there before. They’ve beaten Dortmund in Dortmund, which I believe is a bigger place to go and win. This team is used to playing in big games after their Europa League run last season, so it won’t phase them.

"They can score goals away from home but the problem is trying to keep it shut at the back. They lost two goals the other night which is disappointing and when you’re in the driving seat at 2-1 then you want to see the game out.

"PSV have some good players in Sangare and Gakpo, players who can cause a lot of problems, so it’ll be a difficult night. It wouldn’t surprise me if Rangers went through.”
