Rangers Women to play two decisive fixtures at Ibrox

Rangers will return to Ibrox for two decisive SWPL fixtures as Jo Potter’s side look to reignite their title push in the closing weeks of the season.

The club have confirmed both upcoming home matches — against Glasgow City and Hibernian — will be staged at the iconic Govan ground, setting up a blockbuster finale to the campaign with the championship still hanging in the balance.

The Light Blues are set to welcome Glasgow City on Wednesday, April 30, with kick-off at 7:35pm. The clash will also be broadcast live on BBC ALBA as the two teams — both chasing silverware — go head-to-head under the Ibrox lights.

The season will then reach its climax back at Ibrox on Sunday, May 18, when Hibernian come to town for what could be a winner-takes-all showdown. Kick-off time and ticketing information for the final-day encounter will be confirmed in due course.

Potter’s side, who primarily play their home games at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld but have also used Ibrox three times this season, will be desperate to bounce back after a costly defeat to Hibs last time out.

Rangers slipped off the summit after falling to a 2-0 loss in Edinburgh, with Kathleen McGovern nodding the hosts in front just nine minutes into the top-of-the-table contest at Meadowbank. Stacey Papadopoulos doubled the lead with a clinical finish ten minutes before the interval, leaving the Gers with it all to do in the final stretch.

The result saw Hibs leapfrog Potter’s team to reclaim top spot, sitting two points clear with just five games left to play, and Glasgow City a further point adrift in third.

Tickets for the Glasgow City fixture are on sale now, priced at £8 for adults and £5 for concessions and juveniles, with a family bundle available for £10 covering one adult and one child. Supporters who had already secured tickets prior to the venue change have been reassured that their purchases remain valid.

With the title race wide open and the Ibrox factor adding an extra layer of occasion, all eyes will be on how Potter’s side respond as the pressure reaches boiling point.
