Rangers warned over key Frankfurt duo ahead Europa League final showdown

Rangers warned over key Frankfurt duo ahead Europa League final showdown

Former West Ham and St Mirren defender Anton Ferdinand has told Rangers they will have to keep Eintracht Frankfurt pair Ansgar Knauff and Daichi Kamada quiet if they are to lift the Europa League trophy.

Ferdinand was gutted that the Hammers fell short at the semi-final stage in a 3-1 aggregate loss to the Germans.

But the 37-year-old is hoping Rangers can go all the way and lift the silverware after overcoming RB Leipzig.

Ferdinand was particularly impressed by on loan Borussia Dortmund wing-back Knauff and midfielder Kamada over the two legs.

He said: “There are some players to watch out for, the right wing back Knauff is a fantastic player, he was fantastic over both legs.

“Kamada the Japanese playmaker is another one that Rangers will have to look at and keep quiet but that togetherness that Rangers have and fan base they have can see this through.

“In the final it does not matter about who is playing well at the time, in the final it’s about who turns up on the day and as we’ve seen against German teams this season Rangers have turned up every single time.

“As someone who is British I would like to see Rangers win the Europa League.”
