Rangers want Malik Tillman but he sees future 'elsewhere', says Kenny Miller

Malik Tillman has already made his mind up on his Rangers future.

That's according to Kenny Miller, who reckons the American doesn't want to return to Ibrox next term.

It was revealed by Michael Beale yesterday that the Bayern Munich loanee would be out for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old picked up a hamstring injury against Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup last weekend.

Rangers have yet to decide whether to trigger their option-to-buy clause for Tillman this summer from Bayern.

Beale revealed that talks over a permanent deal were still "ongoing in the background" with the £5million move still on the table.

And while Miller believes it's clear Rangers want to retain the player, he reckons Tillman views his future elsewhere.

Asked if Tillman would play for Rangers again, Miller told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I don't think so. I think it won't be for Michael's will to try."

Host Gordon Duncan interjected, asking if the former Ibrox hero thought Rangers "wanted" the deal.

Miller responded: "It sounds that way. If you jump back a few months there was talk of triggering that option and that they want to pursue a potential deal.

"I just think the boy might see his future elsewhere. That would be my gut instinct on it. I think it's a big chunk of money.

"I think he is a wonderful player and Michael sees him every day in training, the potential he has got, and the things he could accomplish.

"I just think it's a lot of money for Rangers to be shelling out if it's £5million."
