Rangers vs Hibs stream: How to watch Philippe Clement's first match as manager

Philippe Clement is set to take charge of his first game as Rangers boss this weekend as the Ibrox club take on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

The 49-year-old became the 19th permanent manager of the Govan club following the departure of Michael Beale at the start of the month.

After playing at Genk and Club Brugge, Clement won the Belgian Pro League as a manager with both teams but he inherits a Light Blues side who are currently seven points behind Premiership leaders and defending champions Celtic.

Clement will be looking to make an instant impact in his first game in charge and here is everything you need to know about the match.

When is Rangers vs Hibs?

Rangers vs Hibs takes place at Ibrox today, Saturday, October 21.

The fixture will get underway at 3pm.

Is Rangers vs Hibs on TV?

No. Unfortunately, the match is not live on television.

There is also no PPV option to watch the Premiership contest.

However, Rangers and Hibs TV's international subscribers can watch the fixture live overseas.

What has been said prior to Rangers vs Hibs?

Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement stated that he is “not Harry Potter” as he warned Rangers fans not to expect too much too soon against Hibernian on Saturday.

“I hope they see a difference but I am not Harry Potter with the magic stick who can change everything suddenly,” said Clement.

“It doesn’t work that way. It is a tough balance coming in during a season and it is not the first time, it was the same at Genk and Monaco.

“When you come in during the season you have to analyse what is good and what can be better and then prioritise the most important things to make better this week and the next week because if I try to do everything at one moment I kill the players.

“So it needs to be step by step. It is about analysing everything, the way I want to implement things.

“It is never perfect from the beginning. That is impossible but I see the good intentions, in staff and with the players, and the international players are now back in the last two days. I am looking forward to the first game and seeing how fast the little seeds we have planted will grow.

“I see a lot of good things here but a lot of things we need to make better and we need to focus on that now and make them better.

“I know a game is different from training, there is another atmosphere and tension so I don’t expect the perfect game tomorrow.

“I expect there will be things that go wrong but how you react at those moments is important and that they are open to learning and make it better and better.”

Nick Montgomery

Nick Montgomery believes it is best if Hibernian simply focus on playing their own attacking game at Ibrox on Saturday, given the difficulties of trying to guess how Rangers might approach their opening match under new manager Philippe Clement.

“Obviously before he came in we analysed their last couple of games,” said Montgomery on Friday. “He’s come in at the start of the week but boys have been away on international duty.

“I’m sure he’ll try and implement some of his identity and what he wants to do with the team, but that will be pretty difficult in a week so I’m not sure what will change.

“We’ve looked at some of his stuff from his time at Monaco, Genk and Brugge and he’s obviously been successful in the past.

“We’ve analysed a couple of his games at Monaco. He’s going into a club with a very good squad and he’s been with the players for a week, so we have to look at the possibilities of how they’ve played this season and how he’s played previously.

“I’m not sure exactly what will happen tomorrow but we’ve analysed what we feel is important, and really it’s about us preparing for the way we’re going to play and not worrying too much about the opposition.”
