Rangers vs Celtic semi final date hint dropped as Falkirk star reveals 'expected' Scottish Cup slot for Inverness

Stephen McGinn has revealed the Falkirk players "expect" their Scottish Cup showdown with Inverness to be given the Saturday semi-final slot.

And that means the clash between holders Rangers and Celtic will take place on the Sunday, April 30 at Hampden. The Glasgow giants are set to battle it out at the national stadium as they look to face off against lower league opposition during the showpiece occasion, and with fans of both sides keen to start planning for the end of season showdown Falkirk star McGinn has dropped a major hint about the fixture list.

After the Bairns came from behind to against Ayr to secure their spot in the final four they now face a rerun of the 2015 final to book their spot in the showpiece final. Midfielder McGinn admits John McGlynn and co are planning to face Scottish Championship side Caley Thistle on Saturday, April 29.

McGinn told The Go Radio Football Show: "We expect to play on the Saturday, and we expect to be the BBC game. We expect Viaplay to take Celtic vs Rangers game on the Sunday.

"I saw some things on Twitter about the Kiltwalk on the Sunday so you're never sure. But, we expect it to be the Sunday."
