Rangers are set for a 'major overhaul' over their recruitment network, according to a report.
It's said that the Ibrox club's scouting department will see big changes in the coming months, as they aim to fall in line with other European clubs.
Rangers are looking to focus their attention on data and video analysis. So, scouting staff will use such tools to consider a player. If the club takes up a serious interest, they will then go to watch said player in action.
This will see a number of their scouts and other members of the recruitment team move on.
The Daily Record reports that this decision is not down to recent results of the club's transfer business, but instead to future-proof the club's longer-term strategy in the market.
The report goes on to state that Rangers' scouting team in the UK will be cut from seven down to three, while other part-timer members of staff who work overseas will leave.
Rangers spent in the region of £13m this summer under Michael Beale in the market.
Meanwhile, a potential move from Hearts to Rangers for Lawrence Shankland has been mooted by a former player of both clubs.
Ian Black reckons the Scotland international could depart Tynecastle in January if he continues his form in front of goal for the Jambos.
Shankland, who is currently on international duty with Steve Clarke's squad, has five goals in nine matches so far this season.
That follows on from the 28-year-old's stunning campaign last time out where he netted 28 times in 47 appearances.
Both Rangers and Celtic have been linked with the former Dundee United and Ayr man in the past.
Most recently Kris Boyd explained he could not get his head around why neither Old Firm outfit had pursued a move for Shankland.
Black certainly understands that viewpoint. Asked by Football Scotland if he would recommend moving to Rangers, having done it himself in 2012, he said: “Yeah, with Shanks you never know. He’ll have interest from elsewhere as well, big clubs down south if he keeps going the way he’s going."
