Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is not likely to be completing a move to English League One side Sheffield Wednesday this summer, according to reports.
It emerged at the weekend that, after a potential loan route to fellow third tier side Derby County was linked earlier this month, the Owls were another after his services. Roofe has supplied goals in his time at Ibrox but has been hit with injury issues since his 2020 move from Belgian club Anderlecht.
He currently has 34 goals in 72 games and his deal at Rangers expires in 2024.

The Sheffield Star reports that a Wednesday move for Roofe is 'unlikely' at this stage and 'It is not clear whether the Jamaican international would consider the switch' to join players like ex-Ger Josh Windass in Darren Moore's attacking arsenal. Light Blues boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the club hierarchy are also not thought to want to shift on one of their attacking assets this summer.
The Premiership season begins against Livingston on Saturday.
They have already sold Cedric Itten this summer but Rangers have bolstered their forward department with Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Colak and Malik Tillman all capable of playing in a front three. Scott Wright and Ryan Kent can also operate there alongside Fashion Sakala with star striker Alfredo Morelos still to return from injury.
A trip to the Lions is how Rangers kick off their season before a crucial Champions League third round qualifier versus Union St Gilloise of Belgium beginning next week.
