Rangers are flying under the radar for now but don't expect that to be the case for too long as transfer madness prepares to kick in.
Ange Postecoglou's Celtic departure is eating up plenty of headlines but Michael Beale's rebuild is still ongoing in the background. And he will need to be prepared for a title challenge no matter who is in charge of his rivals, with key players set to leave and new ones taking their place after a disappointing 2022/23 season ended without a trophy.
Dujon Sterling has been unveiled as the latest arrival, following on from Kieran Dowell last month. Jose Cifuentes could be set to land after LAFC's CONCACAF Champions League campaign ended on Sunday night, and Jack Butland has a free run at Rangers too now his Man United duties are over. Record Sport also exclusively revealed that Rangers have made their move to sign Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, tabling a significant seven-figure bid for the Nigerian international. But what is the latest surrounding Beale's plans? We take a whistle stop tour.
Haji Wright
After rumours of a bid from Rangers worth around £7m being rejected, it seems as if American striker Wright is destined to leave Turkey. And current club Antalyaspor are preparing for that day.
According to Fotomac, Wright has 'received good offers' and is 'expected to leave the team.' His exit is so anticipated that replacements are already being lined up.
Gambian striker Yusupha Njie is being sought after 14 goals in 32 games at Portuguese outfit Boavista. The Light Blues are looking bolster their forward areas after Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent's exits.
Malik Tillman
A name on the lips of many Ibrox fans this summer, some will be wondering if Tillman is coming back to Rangers after his loan stint. But a period of behind the scenes changes at parent club Bayern Munich have proven difficult.
The departure of sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has possibly been one hold-up after Beale hinted at talks after the conclusion of the Premiership season in late May. TZ claim in that aftermath, the "Scots lost their contacts" and "it is therefore quite possible that the negotiations will initially be on hold", leaving the youngster in transfer limbo until a resolution is found. It is also stated "the staff quake at FCB may also have an impact on the future of the US boy."
Tillman was named PFA Young Player of the Year for impact in blue over the term. He has been spotted in Bayern gear again as he works back from a season-ending muscle problem.
Luis Palma
The Honduran hasn't been shy at hinting about Rangers. Rumours have circulated that Beale is having a glance over the Aris man but whether that is reality or not, Palma has said he will move this summer and has observed the Scottish league.
Now Honduran legend David Suazo has been left impressed by his work. But he just hopes someone is advising the attacker on his next move wisely. Suazo told Deportes: "At this moment we must applaud Palma, they have spoken well of him, Konstantinos Katsouranis told me good things about him, with whom I shared in Benfica.
"Luis is establishing himself, right now we will have a player who can reach more. I want him to be well advised because he had a good year in Europe"
