Rangers transfer news bulletin as Antonio Colak exit option emerges amid Cifuentes and Maja waiting game

Rangers have been among the busiest clubs in the Scottish Premiership as Michael Beale looks to bring a new era of success to the club with a revamped side.

Sam Lammers, Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling are all in the door while Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent were let go at the end of their deals - but Beale has warned the remaining stars that the players at the end of their contracts will not be the last to go with some fringe stars sweating over their long-term futures at the club.

The Ibrox boss is looking to ensure a miserable Celtic return for Brendan Rodgers by bringing the league title back across the city - and that will require plenty of work from the Rangers gaffer before the campaign kicks off once again. Ange Postecoglou left behind a Treble-winning side behind for the new Parkhead boss to work with while Beale was left trophyless when the curtain came down on the season.

But who could be next coming in - or heading out of the door - on on Edmiston Drive? Record Sport takes a look.

Antonio Colak

The future of Antonio Colak appears to be up in the air amid Beale's Ibrox overhaul - with the Croat netting just three times since the Londoner's arrival with outgoing Alfredo Morelos and Fashion Sakala leading the line. After starting the season as first-choice striker under Gio van Bronckhorst, reports suggested the Ibrox side were willing to let the striker leave this summer just 12 months after he arrived from PAOK.

German outlet BILD have claimed that there is an option in the Bundesliga for the frontman. Werder Bremen are looking for a new striker as they prepare to lose Marvin Ducksch this summer with a fee in the region of €12million on offer from Saudia Arabian side Al-Wehda.

Colak was reportedly "scouted" by the German side earlier this season with a view to a move. His experience with Nuremberg, Ingolstadt and Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga has made him a top target.

Scott Wright

Scott Wright is another Rangers star who was used sparingly under Michael Beale - and looks set to be on the move this summer. However, a switch to Preston looks to be off the table.

Football Scotland report that an attempted "lowball" offer was knocked back by the Ibrox side. But there remains plenty of interest from the English Championship in the wide man.

Jose Cifuentes

Rangers remain keen on bringing Jose Cifuentes to the club this summer. Record Sport understands Gers chiefs are hoping to apply the finishing touches on the deal when he rounds off his international commitments with Ecuador.

The 24-year-old is likely to be announced as a Rangers player next month. However, fans will have been impressed with his exploits for his country.

The Los Angeles FC midfielder chipped in with an assist for teammate Willian Pacho during the clash with Costa Rice. He helped his side run out 3-1 winners in the friendly showdown.

Josh Maja

Maja has netted 16 goals and has played in all of their league games this season, but has yet to agree new terms and has been touted with a move to the Scottish Premiership this summer. A one-year extension would have been triggered had Bordeaux been promoted to Ligue 1 - but they were controversially denied a return to the French top flight.

The match against Rodez was cancelled with a supporter entering the field of play to attack the goalscorer. Bordeaux needed victory to secure promotion back to the top flight but after it was decided that they would be forced into a forfeit, it meant Metz secured second place in Ligue 2 and were promoted instead.

The club are appealing the decision, but French outlet Sport report that the row with the French Football Federation is set to rumble on beyond the end of Maja's contract. It is claimed that the 24-year-old has "indicated" to the club that he will not sign a new deal if they remain in Ligue 2 - despite Bordeaux offering a deal. It leaves the door open for a potential bargain signing for Rangers.
