Rangers transfer latest as Giovanni van Bronckhorst 'wins race' to land Tom Lawrence

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to secure his latest summer addition after winning the race for former Derby County star Tom Lawrence, according to a report.

Rangers kicked off their summer activity by landing top target Antonio Colak on a three-year deal from Greek side PAOK after shelling out a fee believed to be around £1.8million. John Souttar has already arrived at Ibrox this summer on a pre-contract agreement after putting pen to paper earlier this year from Hearts.

Now the Glasgow Times report that Wales international Lawrence is poised to become the latest name to check-in at Ibrox this summer after fighting off competition from English Championship outfit Sheffield United to land the midfielder. Joe Aribo is on his way out of the Light Blues with a move to Southampton edging closer. He is in the final year of his contract and Rangers will cash in now rather than lose him for nothing in 12 months time. Lawrence is a free agent and is expected to seal a move to Glasgow in the next few days.
