Rangers transfer calendar as key Butland and Cifuentes dates emerge while Malik Tillman talks run amid fee 'squeeze'

The Rangers rebuild is well underway and Michael Beale will be putting some key dates in his calendar as he ramps up the overhaul.

Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling are two players definitely part of the attempt to lift the Scottish Premiership title next season after watching rivals Celtic complete a Treble this season, but plenty more new faces could be on the way to Ibrox this summer. Beale has used the free agent market well so far this month, and that could be exploited once again as he looks to replace Light Blues' legend Allan McGregor.

Jack Butland's time at Manchester United came to an end without playing a single minute of football for the English Premier League giants. The 30-year-old will return to parent club Crystal Palace where his contract will expire on June 30 after making the bench in the FA Cup Final defeat to Manchester City.

Reports south of the border suggest that Roy Hodgson does not want to extend the England cap's contract into next season. Palace had an option to trigger a one-year extension but the Selhurst Park club have passed on that - clearing the path to Rangers.

Jose Cifuentes is currently in the midst of a busy schedule with Major League Soccer season but the key date for a Los Angeles FC exit is just around the corner. The second leg of their Concacaf Champions League Final clash against Mexican side Leon will be completed in the early hours of June 5, as they look to overturn a 2-1 deficit to lift the trophy.

The final was noted as a key date in the fixture calendar with the Ecuador international set to get the green light for a move away from America after the final. A move for the 24-year-old could rapidly gather pace following the full-time whistle Stateside with LAFC looking to cash-in on a the midfielder before his contract expires at the end of the MLS campaign.

Malik Tillman is back training with Bayern Munich after his Rangers loan agreement expired on May 31 - but the club still have an option to make the deal permanent. The £5million option to buy will run throughout June - according to the player.

Speaking after being named PFA Scotland's Young Player of the Year, Tillman made it clear he was in no rush to decide his future and could drag the call out throughout the next month. He said: “I’ve spoken to Michael Beale already and he said, ‘Just take your time. It’s your decision’.

"That’s what I’m going to do, The option is until the beginning of June or something so I still have three or four weeks to decide. I’m going to take my time because obviously it’s a big decision for me."

German outlet TZ report that a permanent deal is only "a matter of time". The report suggest that Rangers "want to squeeze" the transfer valuation down.
