Rangers treble-winner Michael Mols says he would keep Barry Ferguson at the club beyond the summer 'no matter what'.
The 47-year-old took interim charge at Ibrox following Philippe Clement's dismissal at the end of February.
Ferguson has had a busy first month at the helm, having navigated Rangers to the quarter-finals of the Europa League before securing a memorable 3-2 victory at Parkhead.
Mols, who played with the current boss during the 2000s, is a fan of Ferguson's managerial style and would keep him at the club beyond the end of the season, even if not as the new permanent gaffer: "You can see how he [Ferguson] is showing the current players what it means to be at Rangers," he said (SunSport).

"That has been missing a little bit.
"To be at Rangers, you need to win every game. You need to give everything, and he has brought that back.
"For me, I would keep him no matter what job or role he is given.
"He has Rangers DNA. You need people at the club with a blue heart and he has that.
"He understands everything about the club, and they need to keep him in some kind of capacity."
Few would have expected Ferguson to be the short-term replacement for Clement in the Ibrox dugout, although even as a player, Mols didn't anticipate the former club captain going on to be a manager.
Indeed, the Dutchman drew parallels between Ferguson and his fellow countryman, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who led Rangers to the 2022 Europa League final.
Mols said: "To be honest, looking back, I would never have thought Barry would end up becoming a manager.
"He always showed such passion during the games.
"But in the dressing room, he hardly ever talked.
"Barry always led by example through his actions on the pitch.
"It was the same with Gio. I never thought he'd be a manager, but he went on to do very well in the dugout.
"I'm surprised, but it's hard sometimes to tell who will make that step."
