Rangers will play the national anthem before their clash with Napoli as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The game was pushed back by 24 hours because of the demands placed on the police, while all matches featuring UK sides will have what UEFA call "moments of silence" before kick-off with armbands also being worn. However, Rangers will allow the Ibrox crowd to sing 'God Save the King' in tribute during the national period of mourning with the state funeral planned for Monday, September 19.
English Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City as well as Rangers reportedly all submitted requests to play the anthem in a bid to honour beloved monarch as well as her son and successor, King Charles III. The decision comes amid reports that UEFA have rejected requests from three British clubs to play the national anthem ahead of this week's group stage fixtures.
But the Daily Mail claims European football's governing body rejected their requests as they would prefer to maintain a subdued atmosphere. The Champions League anthem will also not be played as a mark of respect.
