Rangers talent 'lit up' Ibrox in amazing debut display as Ally McCoist stunned by moment he won't forget for 'long, long time'

Rangers icon Ally McCoist says Alex Lowry's debut goal will live long in his memory after the teenager's instant Ibrox impact.

Lowry was introduced as a first half substitute in last Friday's 4-0 Scottish Cup fourth round win over Stirling Albion and netted too.

His overall performance was accomplished, winning praise from a Rangers legend. Lowry has been a key member of the Premiership side's Lowland League 'B' team this term.

Now McCoist has taken notice of the teenager from Uddingston, who graduated from Motherwell's Braidhurst high school. He believes he was the difference maker against the Binos.

Lowry will hope for another chance when Rangers host Livingston at home this evening.

McCoist told BT Sport: “When Alex Lowry came on, he kind of lit up the place.

“A youngster coming in, full of enthusiasm, really wanting to do well.

"I won’t forget his face when he scored that goal for a long, long time.”
