When Rangers signed Cyriel Dessers from US Cremonese in summer 2023, then manager Michael Beale claimed the striker matched a "very specific profile" and aligned with the club's ambitions.
That was enough to hand him a lucrative four-year deal.
Fast forward 18 months and the Nigerian internationalist could be on the move again after falling down the pecking order at Ibrox.
Dessers' Rangers goal record reads at 34 strikes from 84 appearances, but he has featured sporadically since November with Moroccan prodigy Hamza Igamane proving to be a better success up front in the system boss Philippe Clement wants to implement.

Now it's suggested that Italian side Cagliari are considering another attempt to secure the services of Dessers as they navigate a challenging season in Serie A.
The Sardinia-based club has shown interest in the 30-year-old forward for some time, and Italian sources indicate that they have made three previous efforts to bring him on board.
With the January transfer window ongoing, Cagliari may be poised to make yet another move.
Dessers, who spent a year at Cremonese, where he netted seven goals in 29 appearances, is seen as a valuable addition.
Rangers are reportedly open to facilitating a transfer if an appropriate offer is presented for the player that cost them around £4.5million.
