Rangers stole our game last time, I'll make sure Celtic are ready for derby demands

Brendan Rodgers has admitted Rangers "stole" Celtic's game in the last derby meeting between the Glasgow clubs.

The Ibrox side claimed a 3-0 win in the last encounter between the clubs back on January 2 with Ianis Hagi, Robin Propper and Danilo on the scoresheet.

Celtic boss Rodgers conceded Rangers deserved the win last time but insisted his players will be fully ready to compete this Sunday.

"Rangers stole our game that day," said the Celtic manager reflecting on the last match against Rangers. "That is normally how we play and how we do but they took it from us and deserved the win.

"But we will be ready for the demands of that game.

"I said before, I'd never had the team really like that in any of those games.

"So, the demands that are needed to play in that game, we will be ready for them next week, like we were in the first game."

On whether he expects a different Rangers under Barry Ferguson to that which he faced when Philippe Clement was manager, he added: "I think when I analyse Rangers I see the team that is still doing what they have done all season.

"They are very good in Europe, probably a wee bit inconsistent domestically but the strengths of the team is in the counter-attack. We have to be mindful of that.

"Barry will come with passion and professionalism and will want to make a result here, but I do as well.

"It will be a great game, we will look forward to it and when it arrives it will be brilliant."
