Rangers have announced their starting XI that will take on St Johnstone in their third Premiership match of the season - with Alfredo Morelos on the bench and Ryan Kent omitted from the squad.
The latter started Tuesday's 3-0 win over Union-Saint Gilloise but looked understandably rusty as he started for the first time since a small injury. He is left out of this one with attack partner Morelos continuing his own thigh recovery that kept him out for five months with a spot in the XI/ squad this afternoon.
Both players are racing to be fully match fit for Tuesday's crucial Champions League play-off match against PSV that would grant group stage football on the biggest stage with victory. John Souttar and Kemar Roofe remain out of the squad for boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The opening two league matches of the season have broughy a 2-1 win over Livingston and 2-0 success over Kilmarnock.

This time it's Callum Davidson's St Johnstone who provide the test at Ibrox for Rangers. Van Bronckhorst said to club media ahead of it: “You need to have our positions right on the pitch.
“The movement needs to be there at the right time. The speed of passing needs to be high, otherwise you won’t find any space. But we are improving in those departments in every game."
Rangers XI: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic, Jack, Tillman Lundstram, Wright, Matondo, Colak.
Subs: McGregor, Ridvan, Davis, Lawrence, Kamara, King, Arfield, Sakala, Morelos.
