Rangers starting team news vs Hearts as Giovanni van Bronckhorst faces big night at Ibrox

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named his Rangers side to face Hearts in a huge night at Ibrox.

The Dutchman is under increased fan pressure after Sunday's defeat to St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. The result leaves the Light Blues trailing Celtic and Ange Postecoglou by seven points at the top of the Premiership table after just 13 games going into this midweek card with the Hoops in action at Fir Park at the same time as their Old Firm rivals.

Performances and results have been below standard for the Ibrox men of late and the supporters made their feelings known by confronting skipper James Tavernier in Perth following the defeat to Callum Davidson's men. They also suffered the unwanted tag as the 'worst ever' Champions League group stage team after six defeats from six and a goal difference of -20. All the talk in the wake of Sunday's loss has been on the Dutchman and his future but he has stated he is the man to turn things around and three points and a display to match against the Jambos would be the ideal start.

Speaking ahead of the league clash, Gio said: "There is still a long way to go, we have made it difficult for ourselves and now need to aim for maximum points. It's very important to get the two wins heading into the break.

"We will get players returning from injury during the break to make us stronger. I am focused on the team and winning games, that is all that matters.

"I believe I can turn it around, all my focus is on winning tomorrow - that is the most important thing.

"Winning is the most important thing, that is all that matters at the moment. With wins comes confidence and this allows you to play better. Then with players returning from injury, we can continue to improve."

RANGERS XI: McGregor, Tavernier, King, Davies, Barisic, Sands, Lundstram, Tillman, Matondo, Kent, Colak

Subs: McLaughlin, Davis, Kamara, Morelos, Wright, McCann, Arfield, Devine, Yfeko
