Rangers starting team news vs Aberdeen as Michael Beale hands Robby McCrorie big chance at Ibrox

Michael Beale has named his Rangers team to face Aberdeen as he seeks revenge and a return to winning ways.

Barry Robson - who has since been named permanent Pittodrie boss - picked up a 2-0 win over the Light Blues just a couple of weeks ago to keep his impressive Premiership winning run in tact as the Dons bid to finish third and secure European football. It's been a difficult couple of weeks for the Ibrox men with defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final also ending hopes of silverware.

Jota and Daizen Maeda remained alert to punish the Rangers backline in what proved the key moment in Mount Florida. Focus now turns to the final five league games with players playing for their futures ahead of a massive summer of activity. A number of players out of contract will leave alongside fringe men while a host of new faces will come in the door.

Speaking ahead of this one, the Rangers boss said: “We want to bounce back because we were on a fantastic run. We have had a couple of sore results and we have a team coming to Ibrox on Sunday who are on form.

"There is a rivalry between the two teams. So the players need to perform well. We want to bounce back with a strong performance and a home win.

“Definitely, we will try a few things out for sure. But I thought last week the performance was good so there was things to build on.

“There will be an opportunity for one or two if they earn it via training but there is also an opportunity for one or two that have been patient and probably deserve a go as well.”

RANGERS XI: McCrorie, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Ridvan, Lundstram, Raskin, Cantwell, Matondo, Hagi, Fashion JR.

Subs: McLaughlin, Souttar, Kamara, Morelos, Wright, Arfield, King, Devine, Lowry
