Rangers star Ryan Jack reveals he suffered WHIPLASH in Liverpool Champions League battering at Ibrox

Ryan Jack has revealed he suffered WHIPLASH in Rangers' Champions League mauling by Liverpool.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been without the midfielder after a challenge from Ibrahima Konate left him with a double whammy after also injuring his calf. The 30-year-old has had a number of injury issues in recent seasons but he's now back fit and raring to go for the Light Blues after the World Cup break.

He was away as part of Steve Clarke's Scotland side that travelled to face Turkey and he landed some much-needed first-team minutes as he was introduced as a second half sub in the 2-1 defeat in the final international fixture ahead of Euro qualifying kicking off next March. Between now and then, Jack wants to get into the rhythm of playing consistent football and performing to the highest level. Opening up on his latest injury, he said: "I actually got a bit of whiplash from the challenge from Konate — he hit my calf as well so it was a bit of a double whammy.

“I got it checked and everything was fine but there was just no point in rushing things. I’m fully fit now and I feel good. It was good to get some minutes for Scotland too.

“I spoke to the manager and he asked if I’d been training with my club and if I was fit.

“I was and I wanted to come away and get some minutes.

“For me, it’s just about trying to get into a rhythm, playing consistently and playing well. If you do that then everything else falls into place.

“It was great to be in Turkey and good to get 25 minutes on the pitch. I’m just disappointed we never got anything from the game."
