Alex Lowry is happy to put his contract negotiations to one side and focus on his football at Rangers after signing a new deal.
The teenage midfielder from Uddingston is one of the Premiership club's brightest talents and came off the bench in an impressive cameo during the 2-0 win over Dundee United on Sunday.
He penned a new deal until 2025 the day previous after transfer speculation linked him to English Premier League pair Manchester City and Newcastle United.
Having been involved in some of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Europa League squads that have taken Rangers to the final against Frankfurt in Seville next week, Lowry was keen to stick about.
A graduate of Motherwell's Braidhurst high school, he's been given a taste of life in the big time after promise in the 'B' team at Lowland League level.
Now he wants to build on his five appearances in 2022 at top flight level with the Light Blues.
He said: "You can see where the club is going. We are in a European final in Seville. That was definitely a key point.
"And just the fan base, everything about the club, I have loved it since I was young. I didn’t really want to go anywhere else. Now that the contract’s out of the way, I can concentrate solely on my football.
“That hanging around for a while wasn’t great. It was a bit of a wait but it’s done now so football is the main thing.
“I’m looking forward to kicking on and putting in good performances for Rangers.”
The midfielder impressed in his cameo appearance from the bench but was self-critical of some of his touches at Ibrox against United.
Lowry added: “It was good to get more minutes. I thought I did not too bad. A couple of times I rushed it and maybe made the wrong decision - but that’s stuff I can learn from in the future.
“There are times when I do it maybe too much but I’ve been trying to do that since I was young.
“I’ve always been a positive kind of player, so my first thought is the quickest way forward towards the goal. That’s always been my main aim.
“The boys in the changing room are great with me. They always tell me to try things. It’s self-belief but also from boss and from his staff. They give me that confidence to go and do my stuff."
