Rangers star describes 'dream' debut and the 'daunting' feeling he had before stunning Ibrox crowd

Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry says he loved his first taste of Ibrox action after the perfect start in Scottish Cup action.

The teenager netted after coming off the bench as Rangers beat League Two Stirling Albion 4-0 to move on from the fourth round.

Lowry - who hails from Uddingston and was an attendant of Motherwell's Braidhurst high school - has played in the club's Lowland League 'B' team this term.

He admits that he had mentioned to teammate Calvin Bassey how big the Ibrox park looked, and it proved to be the case.

Lowry told Rangers Review : "When I was sitting on the bench I was talking to Calvin Bassey just saying, this is crazy it just looks so daunting.

"And then as I went onto the pitch I started to relax and play my own game. The players were brilliant with me and gave me all the confidence I needed.

"It's a dream. I came through the door at eight years old and 10 years later I’m making my debut for the first team and scoring.

"The players are brilliant with me from as soon as I came on. It’s always a positive when they’re behind me, giving me the confidence to go and play my game and I just tried to show them what I can do."
