Rangers star dedicates Scottish Cup triumph to late Ibrox hero with emotional 'every step of the way' message

Ryan Jack has dedicated Rangers' Scottish Cup success to Wishaw's Jimmy Bell.

The Lanarkshire native worked as kitman at Ibrox over several decades sadly passed away prior to the Premiership club's Europa League semi-final with RB Leipzig earlier this month.

His funeral took place the day before Saturday's 2-0 final against Hearts, which the Light Blues prevailed in 2-0 after extra-time.

Jack rifled in the opener before fellow former Aberdeen star Scott Wright netted a memorable winner in front of over 50,000 at Hampden.

Bell was firmly in the opening goalscorer's thoughts though after an emotional week in Govan.

They suffered Europa League final heartbreak on Wednesday in a penalty shootout loss to Eintracht Frankfurt before responding three days later with a first Scottish Cup since 2009.

Taking to social media, Jack said: "Well Jimmy boy I know you was with me and the team every step of the way this week.

"Won that for you mate rest easy."

Bell dedicated over 30 years of service to the Ibrox club and tributes have poured in throughout May after his passing.
