Rangers injury update issued ahead of Aberdeen clash

Michael Beale has issued an update on his Rangers squad ahead of their trip to Aberdeen.

The Light Blues travel to Pittodrie tomorrow evening as the games come thick and fast in the Scottish Premiership.

They will be without Steven Davis and Antonio Colak for the game, with the former the only fresh injury concern. It's expected the Croatian will be back for Friday's game versus Ross County.

The main positive is that Connor Goldson will definitely be back involved in the fold after successfully returning to full training last week.

He told the media: "Borna is back in Croatia, we hope to have him back for the Motherwell game.

"Davis is away for a scan for a small injury, he is the only fresh injury.

"Connor Goldson will come back into the squad tomorrow.

"Colak is not available, but he will be on Friday.

"We need to continue our second-half performance into the start of Tuesday's match."

Much has been made of Aberdeen's defensive style against Celtic.

They were a matter of minutes away from securing a 0-0 draw against the champions, however, eventually, Callum McGregor struck to seal all three points for his team.

And while Beale insists it will be a tough task if Aberdeen deploy the same tactics, he has no issue with it.

He added: "Aberdeen had a game plan at the weekend and almost got a positive result.

"We are prepared for all potential styles we can face. I'm looking forward to a good game up there.

"The managers in Scotland do a good job as they often don't have ready-made players, they have to work and develop them.

"I've seen a difference in Aberdeen's style since my last time here, we will be ready to react to any style they set up with.

"We can't have sloppy turnovers if we are aiming to be a possession-based team.

"We also need to stand up and be accountable for set pieces. We will work hard to keep improving."
