Michael Beale reckons his Rangers squad has jumped "up a level" with Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell both fit and available to face St Johnstone on Saturday.
The Ibrox side are going well under Beale and are looking for their seventh win in eight games at home to the Saints. They weren't at their best against Callum Davidson and his men a week ago but put them out of the Scottish Cup in Perth and they will be confident of another win.
It's been more than a year since Hagi last featured but Beale grinned at the prospect of having him available again. And with Cantwell, fresh off signing a long-term deal after leaving Norwich, also in the squad, it's as good as having two new signings in the squad to face the Saintees. Beale said: "(Having Hagi back) does feel like the equivalent of having another £4m player through the door. And if you get Todd Cantwell in the same window for nothing really then it’s a brilliant one for us."
No points for guessing who starts up top either as Beale added: "Alfredo Morelos has been our only number nine because Fashion has played wide and I think he’s done a good job for the team. I prefer Alfredo when he’s more involved in the game and not less. I want to see him coming and having more touches on the ball because he looks a better player. I don’t like when he’s not involved in the game."
