Rangers squad revealed amid 'no gimmicks' vow as Robby McCrorie eyes major moment

Michael Beale vowed to give Robby McCrorie a run of games before the end of the season and with just five games to go then now could be his time to stake a claim for the gloves at Ibrox.

Rangers fans just want a desperate campaign to be over and now we're in the final stretch of the Scottish Premiership season and with the clock ticking on Allan McGregor's time then it could be McCrorie's big chance.

Beale admitted he will "try a few things out" during his press conference ahead of the visit of Aberdeen so could that mean McCrorie being handed a start? At 25-years-old he's hardly a youngster so it's now or never for him really. Intriguingly, Beale announced the keeper is fit so it could point to a start to the man who could come up his brother Ross in Govan with the midfielder a key man for Barry Robson's Dons.

There will be clamour for change in the line-up after last week's season-ending defeat to Celtic at Hampden but it's a balance for Beale as he looks to get revenge for the recent defeat at Pittodrie and he won't want a wild gap at the top to their rivals either on the weekend they could be crowned champions.

Beale said: "There will be an opportunity for one or two if they earn it via training, but there’s one or two that have been patient and deserve a go as well. Every time you put on the shirt is a huge privilege, and I’ll be looking for things from the group. We’ve been moving towards next year in ideas since I came in, it’s about finishing this season strongly and also building towards the future - that continues.

“It’s a big opportunity for everyone, but since I’ve come in November, everyone’s had the same opportunity - they’ve had to earn the right to play. Some haven’t been fit and are now, namely Ridvan (Yilmaz) and Rabbi Matondo. There’s an opportunity in the next five games, but we’ll be picking the strongest team to play the games, no gimmicks. "
