It was Kyogo - Oh - Heaven for Celtic as the Hoops shot down Hearts to ensure the title remains under lock and key at Parkhead. The Hoops hitmen both netted in a 2-0 win at Tynecastle to make it back-to-back Premiership triumphs for Ange Postecoglou and spark another party in the green half of Glasgow.
It’s a trip to face their arch rival up next week. And Seamie Gallagher, Govan, said: “Congratulations to brilliant Celtic and Ange. Another league title wrapped up. Let's hope Rangers give us a guard of honour on Saturday as a mark of respect.” Bill Lockerbie, Northampton, said: “I never thought I would enjoy a coronation as much as I did on Sunday. The crown was firmly placed on the heads of Scotland's most successful team ever. Homage was duly paid at Tynecastle and King Ange took his place alongside Jock, Martin and Brendan. A world record breaking treble around the corner.”
Kenny Wilson, Moffat, added: “Champions again, that’s 11 out of the last 12. And to think Rangers fans still think they’re better than us. With the treble looking more than likely Mr Postecoglou has done an amazing job in a short time and I can still hear the laughter when he was appointed - but who’s laughing now?”
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: “I read that Postecoqlou is intending to raid the Asian leagues when the transfer markets reopen in the summer. And it was significant when I witnessed Hyeongyu Oh scored the goal to clinch the title. He reminds me of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.”
William Hutchison, Aberdeen, added: “Two down and one to go.. please don't let Ange go.”
Not everyone was impressed though after Hearts controversially had Alex Cochrane red carded shortly before half time and with the game goalless. Willie Collum on VAR told ref Nick Walsh to go to the monitor and his original decision to book Cochrane was changed to a red.
Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: “It’s no wonder Celtic are going for a treble when yet another game changing decision goes their way And yet again it’s Willie Collum, he along with Kevin Clancy need to be removed from Scottish football to maintain the integrity of the game.”
And Tom Vallance, Dumbarton, said: “The gloating from the east end of Glasgow about gaining on Rangers’ word record trophies is cringeworthy. The years 2011-2017 will always be ‘The Asterisk Years’ (without Rangers). To come first in a two-horse race when one of the horses is missing is no race.”
Sticking with Rangers, Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, has a signing suggestion for Michael Beale. He said; “Another goal from Kevin Van Veen and it was beautiful. He’s banged in 25 goals and still more games to play. Like Shankland why this man is not on Rangers’ top priority list for a much-needed centre forward is totally baffling. A man who makes scoring look simple whereas Rangers so-called strikers like Sakala and Morelos can't even put the simple ones in. If Rangers can't see this is a goal scorer they badly need, then i'd sorely question Michael Beale's managership.”
Elsewhere and calls were still arriving over the Scottish Cup Final kick off time. Paul McArdle, Gourock, said: “I know Celtic have a Treble at stake but they and Caley Thistle should refuse to play the cup final at 5.30pm. Neither was consulted and it's an utter disgrace tradition has been thrown out to appease English broadcasters. Refuse to play and see what threats the SFA come out with - they will probably award the cup to the Rangers.”
