Rangers are set to finalise the appointment of Issame Charai as Philippe Clement’s first team assistant manager, according to reports.
It’s believed the 42-year-old Moroccan has already overseen a training session ahead of the crucial Europa League clash against Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday, and will officially sign a three-and-a-half year contract in Glasgow this afternoon.
Charai will join Clement’s backroom staff as the Ibrox side strengthens its coaching team for the second half of the season.
He arrives with a strong reputation, having previously worked in Belgium with KV Mechelen and OH Leuven, as well as coaching the Morocco Under-23 team.
Rangers striker Hamza Igamane will prove a familiar face having worked with Charai at international level.

Clement was asked about the news during his latest press conference but wouldn’t commit to saying yes or no.
He said: "I can only confirm things when things are signed. So if that's the case, I will tell you guys."
There has been intense scrutiny about the Belgian's future in the Rangers hot seat, however this decision appears to signal that the board are still behind him.
