Rangers winger Ross McCausland endured a frustrating international break, failing to see any game time in Northern Ireland’s recent friendlies.
The 21-year-old, who has featured only once since Barry Ferguson took the interim manager role at Rangers in February, was included among Michael O’Neill’s squad for matches against Switzerland and Sweden.
However, despite making the bench for both games, he remained an unused substitute throughout the March camp.
Northern Ireland drew 1-1 with Switzerland on Friday evening before being thrashed 5-1 by Sweden on Tuesday night.
O’Neill made five changes during the latest 90 minutes, yet McCausland wasn’t considered.
He will now be hoping his fortunes shift for the better and he receives the chance to impress in a Rangers shirt before the season ends.
