Hamilton head coach Stuart Taylor believes Kai Kennedy will go on to enjoy a great career, despite his loan spell at Accies from Rangers being hit by injury.
The Scotland youth international joined the New Douglas Park club in January on a temporary deal until this summer.
It's his fourth loan away from Rangers after spells at Championship clubs Raith Rovers, Inverness and Dunfermline, where he spent the first half of the season.
Seven appearances have followed after moving to South Lanarkshire but Kennedy hasn't played since a 2-2 draw with Dunfermline last month.
Taylor says he will miss Friday's Championship finale away at former club Inverness after returning to Ibrox to check over his knock.
He said: "It was a couple of weeks ago that he felt his groin as we prepared for that Saturday's game. He's not returned since then.
"We spoke to Rangers and we agreed he would take his treatment from there. They were happy to do that and there's always been good conversations back and forth.
"We have good relationships with the people at Rangers and we will continue to have that. It was the best thing for the player that he went back.
"They are going to have a second scan so that they make sure they get it right. It's nothing serious, nothing that will cause him any problems.
"For this moment, it's just a couple of weeks too soon for him to come back."
Kennedy is highly-rated within the Light Blues academy system and Taylor can see why. He reckons the 20-year-old is destined to enjoy a decent career, despite his loans bringing mixed fortunes.
He added: "Without a doubt he has something. He has something to offer which is why we signed him. He's a tricky wide player who can create chances.
"We spoke to him when he came in about adding numbers to his game. That was the challenge we gave him. He will have a good career, I'm sure of that."
