Rangers release ‘updated’ supporters information for Fenerbahce away clash

Rangers have provided an important update for supporters traveling to Istanbul for Thursday’s Europa League fixture against Fenerbahce.

Around 2,000 Rangers fans will embark on the Turkish megacity, with the Ibrox club already warning punters to expect a “challenging trip.”

Following continued discussions with Turkish authorities, the Scottish Premiership side has confirmed post-match transport arrangements, with coaches set to return supporters to designated drop-off points in Sultanahmet, Taksim, and Kadikoy.

The Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) team and travelling stewards will be present to assist fans before and after the Round of 16 first leg clash.

Pre-match transport options remain unchanged, with buses leaving from Taksim Gezi Park, and further details will be provided pending final approval from local authorities.

Rangers are working closely with UEFA, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and Football Supporters Europe (FSE) to facilitate as smooth an experience as possible.

However, the club has advised that the trip is expected to pose challenges, particularly in relation to safety, policing, and stadium facilities.

Supporters have been told that the Taksim and Beyoglu areas feature numerous bars and restaurants suitable for gathering before the match.

All Rangers fans must now gather at Gezi Park in Taksim Square rather than the previously designated location at Sultanahmet Square.

From there, supporters will be transferred to the stadium on police-escorted buses, with each bus carrying approximately 80 fans. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

A Rangers statement added: "Due to Istanbul’s heavy traffic, the journey is expected to take between 45 minutes to 1 hour. Supporters should also be aware that no toilet facilities will be available on the buses, and no food or alcohol is permitted.

"We recognise this last-minute change may cause inconvenience, and unfortunately, the club has no control over it. We urge all travelling supporters to plan accordingly and arrive at the new meeting point in good time, and thank you all again for your understanding."
